Work Experience Review:
Did anything unusual or unexpected occur? Were things different from what you expected?
No, nothing unusual or unexpected occurred. I got on with the task ahead of me each day and tried to complete it to my best ability. I didn’t know what I was going to be doing until I got there so I didn’t know what to expect. I expected to be able to use my creative skills more but from being there I learned the customer had their own vision and your just there to make it a reality.
How has your work experience influenced you in terms of your personal career direction?
My work experience influenced me in terms of my personal career direction as now I know I could go into this type of work. I don’t entirely love the job as your creativity is restricted but I do like designing things.
What employability skills have you enhanced or developed as a result of your work experience?
As a result of my work experience, I have developed communicating skills that is essential to get employed and also digital skills which is how the world is going. Nowadays you need digital skills for mostly anything.
Review and Evaluation:
This could be the right work for me because I do like designing and creating things but it could also not be as I wouldn’t like staring at a computer screen all day, every day. As I get older I will be able to make that decision.
In my report sheet, they gave me an excellent for suitability to the work. Personally, I think I could be suitable to the work if it’s not all digitalised but I can’t ignore the fact technology is everywhere nowadays.
Also, in my report they gave me an excellent for ability to perform tasks. I did try my best to design the birthday invitation and business card. I like designing things so I did try harder. If I didn’t like the work I would still try hard as it shows determination and good manners.
There were no unexcepted events for me to deal with. I was told what to do and did it.
Overall my liking to the work stayed the same and I could follow a career in this business.
After the work experience I learned I do like this type of work but I think id like it even more if it wasn’t all computerised. I also learned staring at a computer all day is tiring.
Relevant school subjects needed for this career are business, art, English and computer courses.
